  • I just finished reading Fr. Barron's book, and I was deeply moved. Thank you, Fr. Barron, for writing so well on what it means to be a Catholic. As a Catholic, it made me feel joy and comfort. It also taught me the meaning behind the rituals of Mass. Thank you so much.

  • I converted to the Catholic Church in 2010, after a very hard year in my life, I feel in love with the Church, as much as my friends and family put up obsticels and blocked my path into the church, God always showed me a way around them and at one point he picked me up over them. But now as woman who is totaly in love with the church and is trying to find a balance of work and prayer, these dvd's have showed me the subtle beauty that is the Catholic Church.
Father Barron, teachs with such love and compassion for the Church that you as the viewer can't help but fall in love with the Church even more.
God bless Fr. Barron and I hope that everyone in the world gets to see these and I hope they get as much out of them as I did.

  • I was raised in two faiths of Quaker, & southern Babtist, My mothers father was a Quaker Minister, My father,s uncle was a Babtist minister. My brother met a catholic Girl and turned catholic before he married, and I went to the catholic church with him alot, Then I met my wife in school who was Catholic in her faith,In her family her uncles were Archbisops and priest of the church , her aunt's were nuns in the faith. It took me 5 yrs of studying the faith OF RICA, BABTISM CATACISM,CONFIRMATION before my wife 's uncles believed i was ready to become Catholic. It was their training that showed me that this is the true religion, faith that God and Jesus taught. I get tired of others attacking GODS TRUE RELIGION .

  • Cradle Catholic, raised Catholic, lost sheep but now absolutely 100% Catholic. Between Michael Voris with St. Michael's Media and Father Barron, their fantastic gifts to elaborate on the Truth of the One True Church has enabled me to draw even closer to our Dear Lord through the common sense, beauty, and majesty of our immense history. Catholicism IS genius. I encourage everyone to dive in, realize how much "presence" surrounds us, and motivate yourselves to a higher awareness. The series capitvates and portrays the immense treasures and richness the world can come to know in the Life of our Church. Thank you Father Barron and all who have made this possible. What a glorious way to disciple! God is good.

  • This is Michael, my family originally came from Minot, North Dakota to Washington state for a more temperate climate due to my father's,Frank Werner his mother a Maier, my great grandfather built wagons and farm plows and farming was in their occupations, medical condition, a need for cortisone shots for his left arm, a condition that occured due to cold climate since he worked on a flight field at Minot Air Force Base at the time of 1968. He kept the families history on migration from Oddessa, Russia from Alsace, France and finally to Bismark, North Dakota. I am currently at a golf course to keep my health good and work on sand traps and other maintenance functions that occur every day. I can learn to golf and have tried to keep my arms in shape and good alignment is necessary to drive that golf ball into correct direction. I hope to persue a sports psychology or business communications degree, maybe on-line or best to attend a local college.

  • Being a loving Catholic is simple, like making daily bread, but involves hard work to plant the seeds, to tend, to harvest, to grid, to make and to bake. Fr. Barron's explanation of Mt 5-7 and the Beatitudes opened up my eyes to what Jesus meant by Daily Bread in the Lord's Prayer.
How we must sacrifice our honor, power, wealth and pleasure to give our brothers the Daily Bread of His Love.

  • I personally purchased your 10 video series on Catholicism and it was amazing. Viewing it all within two days, I have had Catholicism up to my eyeballs. I only have one point that I wish you had worded differently. When you were talking about turning the other cheek, you adviced not to acquiesce but "by God" stand your ground. I wish you hadn't used the name of God so carelessly. If you had said "for the love of God" stand your ground; it would of fit better into your position as priest and leader but as a Christian witness.

  • I went through high school in the late 60's in Southern California and was deeply into the sex, drugs, and rock and roll scene.Soon after high school,I found myself in despair and was about to commit suicide when a young man approached me and told me how much God loved me and could change mt life if I would let Him.I ended up bowing my head and with that guy and asked Jesus to come into my hert, and to change my life.I then went through 3 years of fundamentalist evangelical Bible colleges.During that time I got involved in a ministry of witnessing to Jehova's Witnesses, who claim to be a return to 1st century Christianity. To rebut their claim we would use quotes from the Apostolic Fathers. As I read and reread these letter of early Christian leaders of the Church,I began realizing that I didn't believe as the 1st century Church did either! I began investigating the Catholic Church and spent a lot of time alone before the Blessed Sacrament with my Bible.I also read every Saint I could get my hands on,and to make an already long story shorter,I ended up coming into the one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. My area of interest has shifted from dogmatic theology and apologetics to ascetic theology and psychological studies.I've grown very blessed by listening to Fr. Barron, and have him posted all over my facebook page--may the Lord richly bless you and keep you Father,I love you and you are in my prayers and in my heart,Stephen

  • I converted to the Catholic church in 1963 and considered myself pretty educated - have read the classics like St Therese of Liseiux and St Teresa of Avila and St Francis etc. I caught an episode of Catholicism on EWTN. The one on "the teachings of Jesus part I" In that episode, Fr Barron unpacked the Beatitudes like I'd never heard before and it really was a defining moment for me, realizing that those are the formula for happiness HERE! I bought the videos and have watched that episode about 8 times and learn something every time I watch it. So bought some sets to share (going to donate one to our church) and just treated us to the Blue Ray version and I am really looking forward to it arriving - I know it will be even more wonderful because besides being utterly profound, these videos are total eye candy on a High Def TV! (Even the low def ones are incredibly beautiful so I cannot even imagine what the high Def version will look like). Thank you so much, Fr Barron - you bless so many people. I think of you, I hope you don't mind, as the modern Bishop Sheen!

  • Communion of Saints Inspired by St. Thérèse

This beautiful nun vowed she would come down and let fall a shower of roses before she died at a very young age. The more I learn about St. Therese, the more I understand she has the capability to commune with us and even bring us into a communion with the saints in heaven. She brings roses to those who seek her help.

St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower, wrote one of the most widely read spiritual books in the world entitled, Story of a Soul. She penned the manuscript while in the Convent of Carmel in France where she died very young of tuberculosis. Her vocation was love and her mission was to teach her little ways to souls. While dying she asked God to allow her to spend her heaven on earth doing good until the end of the world. She also declared “after my death I will let fall a shower of roses” and vowed “I will come down!”

Have you been a witness to the presence of St. Therese? The experience was probably subtle since she practices little ways of teaching souls to love the Lord. I have been privy to her little ways and amazed at the realization of her presence and gifts. It is indeed a great blessing to know this beautiful saint, and I am honored to have her as my patron saint.

I treasure the little ways in which she has communed with me. My first impression of St. Therese was as a young child gazing upon her picture. She was such a beautiful nun clutching the crucifix and roses with the black veil of her habit framing her face.
Her picture hung in a living room where I spent many hours as a young child after my father died.
Quietly and surely Saint Theresa has always watched over me. At age 12 I chose her as my patron saint because of that lovely picture. Speed forward to age 36, and I am trapped in a frightening and devastating marriage to a sociopath. I don’t know which way to turn being overwhelmed with depression and grief. A friend told me I had a spiritual guide who was a woman. I had no idea who this spiritual guide might be – but I asked whoever she was to please help me.

I was in my office alone at my desk and I began to pray for help. I had a pencil in my hand and a yellow tablet on my desk. My prayers were pleading for help because I didn’t know which way to turn. My life was so hopeless. While praying silently I noticed my pencil move. I then watched in amazement as that pencil began to gently glide across the tablet. Words appeared which I will never forget: "Lousy World Better Love Now."

Fast forward another ten few years and I am very happily married to a wonderful man. We are in Los Angeles working on the Northridge Earthquake. One Sunday we took a break and he drove me to a flea market being held at the Rose Bowl. As we meandered up and down the aisles of merchandise in that parking lot, my eyes fell on the beautiful picture of St. Therese. It now hangs in my bedroom twenty years later and I still marvel that I found St. Therese at the Rose Bowl.

I did not discover the presence of St. Therese until years later. It was after I had started my own search for spiritual truth. That journey began when I was about 43 years old when I picked up the Bible given to me when I was 12 and I read it - all of it, many times. My study evolved from an intense study of the Bible to include apocryphal books and lost ancient manuscripts. My spiritual journey included books abourt Kabala, Eastern mysticism, Zohar and Jungian theories. Then to my surprise I discovered the Western mystics.

I had been raised in the Catholic Church but had no idea that we had Western mystics! I was fascinated by St. Teresa of Avilla, St. John of the Cross and astounded by St. Therese of Lisieux!

I found St. Therese in her book, Story of a Soul. She had always been with me and I hadn’t noticed before. It was while reading this book that I came across her dying days that told how the pen she used to write with became too heavy. She finished her last words writing with a PENCIL! Oh, yes, I recognized her then!

Our relationship has continued to grow and I marvel at the roses I find along the path and silently acknowledge the help and guidance of my wonderful St. Therese.

Therese leads me onto the right paths in my search for truth about mysteries of the Bible. She brought answers to my questions about the mysterious Mary Magdalene She shines a new light on the bible stories and persons of old. St. Therese inspires the books I write.

St. Therese wrote her manuscript until the pencil fell from her hand. The last words she wrote are “. . . through confidence and love.” The book was first published in France and entitled Histoire d’une Ame in 1898. It quickly became a spiritual classic read by millions and was translated into languages around the world. Therese was born on January 2, 1973 and died on September 30, 1897 at the young age of 24.

I believe St. Therese still guides my pencil. I have no doubt but that St. Therese can come down and has come down. She showers those who can see with her roses!

I am so honored to have just published my latest book on her very birthday 1/02/2012 and it is a wonderful tribute to this beautiful nun. She continues to teach us her story and journey of soul in a spiritual adventure entitled: COMMUNION OF SAINTS INSPIRED BY ST. THERESE by Anne Urne.

  • This series adds a new dimension to my view of Catholicism. I am 60 years old, raised in parochial schools and Catholic Colleges. We went to weekly Sunday Mass, and I taught about 12 years in Catholic parochial grade schools. This series is an expansion of all that. My 6th grade teacher (Notre Dame nun) was THE BEST (I have come to believe over time) at conceptualizing and delivering the FAITH, in preparation for CONFIRMATION. But this show helps me to see everything additionally, from a new perspective, in a new light, for ex., the recent discussion on suffering, Book of Job, and possible reasons for suffering in this world, about how we only have limited (and sometimes temporary) understanding of many great mysteries.
