EVERYBODY HAS A STORY

Today I came to this site because I hungered for the Gods word and time with him. As a child I talked to God a lot like a child would talk to their Dad. Since I had no father growing up and I was told God was my father I did just that talked to him like one literally. What I mean by that is sometimes I questioned sometimes as a child would get mad at their dad I was mad too and thus when I eventually became a street kid at 15 I kind of turned away from him but he never left me. Later I came accross a passage in max lucados book that said just like your own father watches there kids play from his window and scrape there knees and watch them get hurt so does our God and that spoke to me. I hungered for him even more at 17 my relationship got ever so much stronger and I went from being a street kid to having a wonderful life with 2 kids and a husband and a healing from God I could not explain. Thanks to my catholic faith every time I enter the church and see jesus on the cross my insides pour out too him and I feel even more in love with my father everyday. Im 24 now and I wouldnt be free and be where I am if it wasnt for the word, the bible, jesus, prayer and God.

I am currently in RCIA to enter into The Church. I was born and raised in a baptist family, being anti-Catholic. I never thought in my life, I was going to enter into the Catholic Church. When I was 17 I lost my mother due to a drunk driver and I fell away from my faith completely, yet I felt called back to serve Him, it was around this time I began to look to our Mother in prayer for help. This was when I felt called to serve Him again, yet not in the same baptist church I was raised in, but the Catholic Church, His Church. The week after Easter Sunday 2012 Catholic friends of mine invited me to mass (after I had told them I was feeling called to the Catholic Church *to their surprise*), after my first mass I knew this was truly my home (even more then my home I sleep in). I have been going through my process of entering the Church in secret from my dad, and most of my family. I lost most of my friends I built up over the years because I told them I was going to become Catholic (many of them being strongly anti-Catholic), and have but a few friends who are Catholic, that has been helpful for me to talk to along with the parish Priest. It was in watching EWTN (after my dad had gone to bed) and seeing the Catholicism series that I felt more affirmed in the calling to enter into the Church. Like I said I am currently in RCIA, in 2013 I will officially enter into the Church.
Prayers that all goes well as I still deal with my mostly anti-Catholic family. I am 22 years old now and I still live in my dad's house.
Thank you Father Barron for the Catholicism series, the Almighty blessed this series that it would help His children find Home. He never fails.

As a sadly customary, dormant Catholic, this is a beautiful awakening. I can finally respond to any one who would ask me why am I a Catholic!
Thank you, Father Barron, I just can't get enough.

I was brought up secular rationalist agnostic, and I was neither expecting nor seeking God. But I love good art. A Catholic friend took me to a Catholic shrine just to show me the pretty painting (Maria, the Lady of All Nations, in Amsterdam.) While in the chapel, I was shocked to sense the Motherly presence of Maria. How odd, as I didn't believe in such things. Later, as the nuns prayed the Rosary, in the exact moment when the praying attention shifted from Maria to Jesus ("Oh my dear Jesus, forgive...) in that moment the presence I felt shifted from motherly and sweet (Maria) to powerful masculine and friendly (Jesus, God.) I was astounded. The same Godly feeling is there, every time at Adoration and at Consecration during Mass -- at every chapel and no matter which priest (Catholic, Orthodox. Others not tested.) Wow! What grace! (a relatively common Grace.) What choice did I have? I was starving for Communion. Hoorah! now I am Catholic. All because the Lady of All Nations is such a beautiful painting that she can attract non-believers to walk in the door of the church, to then possibly experience the Real Presence in the Eucharist. Thanks, Maria, for pointing me to your Son. Thanks, Catholic Church, for great art. Thanks, Word on Fire, for boldly proclaiming how useful great art can be: you are so right.

Thanks to the Catholicism series I can say that I am truly a man whose heart and soul are on fire for God. Growing up Catholic I never understood why we did the things we did. But Father Barron demystified some of the most confusing aspects of our faith by explaining them in ways that even a child could understand. As a result of knowing what I stand for, I have now grown even bolder in sharing and evangelizing the word. People see my enthusiasm and ask me if I'm a protestant Christian and are taken back when I tell them I'm Catholic. It's time for us Catholics to show the world that the spirit of the original Christians is as alive and explosive today as it was in the time of the Apostles. Get up and live your Faith. Amen and Amen.

First of all. I love GOD. and I know Jesus is the truth. I am catholic and so is my family. second I am not mentally ILL for the record. I know our dreams are telling us messages or are visions of good and evil at times and to trust in them when we need to. I know GOD helped me with a picture I had taken where an ANGEL appeared in it. GOD was telling me something. The angel is wearing a crown and carrying a cross in the left hand and wearing a robe and is bare foot. but the thing is I had to have faith in GOD to be able to see the ANGEL from the very beginning to use it to help me. So my message is always keep your faith in GOD. If any one is struggling with their faith any one I hope this message will help.

We are using Catholicism in our family studies. We had always wanted to find a way to share our faith with our children and help them find their way to God. This series has been a complete blessing to our wishes and hopes for that purpose. It's the most remarkable material with incredible insights. It has completely captured the attention of our young adult children. Thank you so very much for bringing this to us in a way that is so meaningful and completely accessible for anyone who has interest.

I have recently returned to the Church. I had been away for 20+ years. I had felt I had been missing something, especially a relationship with God. I returned to the Church. I felt like the Prodigal Son. I felt like I was coming home; that this was the place I was supposed to be. So, I started attending a group that was tailored specifically for those individuals looking to become Catholic, or learn more about their Faith, and in this group I had a chance to view this wonderful series. I was blown away. This series helped me think about the Church in ways I'd never thought of before. It also helped me to think about God in ways I'd never done so. This series helped fuel my desire to want more knowledge about my Faith. I am looking forward to where my journey now takes me

I was an abused child. My mother's religion, very right wing Protestant, dictated that she visit weekly at the local hospital. Apparently, for some reason (I was only 4) she took me with her and left me in the care a very kind, gentle sister named Juliana. who was from Ireland. Whatever Sr. Juliana did (maybe nothing except be gentle & kind to me) impressed me so that I never forgot her or the Catholic faith. It would be 40+ years before I finally joined the Church. Now, I am home.

For right now, I would like to say that I love Catholicism, Father Robert Barrand, and everyone concerned!! I love the program that was just viewed (7pm CST). about the Eucharist. It was so awesome. I have given up a lot for my Faith. I was away from the Church at one time and a big sinner - also mentally ill. Jesus, Mary, Joseph mean EVERYTHING to me now! I am ready to give my life (I think, I hope, I pray) for Jesus and His Catholic Church. I love Him so much! I love the Church so much! I would like to do something really great for God, but feel like I do so little. That is all I have to say for now. I pray a lot. Sacrifice a lot. That is all for now. Sincerely,

I've been watching the "Catholicism" series and am terribly disappointed that it portrays the Church without it's "two lungs" - the Western and Eastern traditions. Blessed John Paul II defined the Church as having two lungs, yet the "Catholicism" films are oblivious to that reality. As a Ukrainian Greek Catholic I am personally offended by the slant taken by Father Barron. Where has he been the last 25 years?

Have written a book: Niki-Now I Know It-chronicling the spiritual and life journey of raising a child with autism. The book contrasts world values against Godly values as embraced by the Catholic Church as well as highlights strategies for helping children with autism. It is available now on Barnes and Noble.com and Amazon.com
